BROOKLYN - President Obama said Saturday morning that he is optimistic that Congress will reach a deal in time to avoid the 'fiscal cliff.'

Congress needs to reach an agreement to prevent the country from going over the fiscal cliff by Dec. 31.

Sen. Mitch McConnell was seen arriving on Capitol Hill Saturday just hours after congressional leaders met with President Obama.

The House is expected to return to Washington Sunday evening.
