Closing arguments commence in Mineo case

BROOKLYN - Closing arguments commenced Tuesday in the trial of three police officers accused of attacking a tattoo artist in Brooklyn.

One officer is accused of sodomy while the two others are accused of covering up the alleged attack against Michael Mineo.

Despite the accusations against the officers, the judge in the Mineo case recently dropped most of the charges against Officer Richard Kern. However, Kern still faces sexual assault charges.

In his closing argument, Kern?s attorney says that there isn?t enough evidence to prove Kern sodomized Mineo. He also calls Mineo a liar and asked the jury to disregard Mineo?s testimony.

The jury is expected to begin deliberations Wednesday.
