BROOKLYN - Attorneys for both sides offered closing arguments in the trial of a Brooklyn man accused with brutally beating his daughter to death.

Cesar Rodriguez's defense attorney portrayed the man as a father that struggled to provide for his family. Prosecutors, on the other hand, painted him as the indifferent and abusive murderer of 7-year-old Nixzmary Brown.

Rodriguez's attorney says his client is the fall guy for Brown's unstable mother. They maintain their client was fingered as the culprit before a thorough investigation was conducted.

Jury deliberations are expected to commence soon.
