BROOKLYN - A group of Cobble Hill parents protested yesterday against a proposed charter school in their neighborhood.

Parents say that the community desperately needs an early education center for pre-K and kindergarten students instead.

A representative for the Department of Education (DOE) says it's considering the charter school because kindergarten rates are up and those kids will need a place to go.
