BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents and activists gathered at Borough Hall Wednesday to publicly rally against gun violence.

Community members met with organizers of "Say Peace 2 Gun Violence" to denounce the apparently growing trend of teen and young adult shootings across the borough. Councilwoman Letitia James (WF-District 35) also joined the crowd, calling for improved safety and smarter legislation.

One of the event's organizers says her nephews are afraid to walk the streets in fear of getting shot. She adds that children should be concerned about their futures, not about being targeted.
