BROOKLYN - The Department of Education is working with community-based organizations to help Hispanic families sign children up for pre-K in the fall.

Today's session, hosted by the Hispanic Federation, gave the DOE the chance to help Hispanic parents get the information they need to enroll their children. Organizers say their job is to bridge the gap and get resources to parents who may not speak English.

Parents say their big concern is the lack of enrollment sites for all communities. To help them, community-based organizations are working with the parents to fill out online pre-K applications and keep them up to date with the latest information.

The deadline to submit a pre-K application for the fall is April 23.
