PARK SLOPE - Community Board 6 held a meeting Monday to discuss plans to expand New York Methodist Hospital in Park Slope.

The plans have been causing tension in the community for the past six months. A large protest was held in November, with community members saying the expansion won't fit with the character of Park Slope. Others have accused the hospital of catering to investors.

The proposed expansion would include an outpatient surgery center, a new endoscopy suite and a cancer center.

The hospital says the facility would also create 152 new jobs.

The full community board will make a final vote on Wednesday.
