BROOKLYN - Community Board 7 says it's ramping up efforts to protect Brooklyn women after nearly 20 sexual assaults in the borough.

According to local officials, several lights have been repaired around the Prospect Avenue subway station. The board says it's also submitting a formal request to the Department of Transportation (DOT) to install cameras at subway stops in Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace.

Also in Windsor Terrace, board members are requesting that the Department of Parks and Recreation trim trees that are blocking street lights.
