BROOKLYN - A Crown Heights community is demanding improvements to a playground they say is falling apart and unsafe for kids.

Tenants say the playground at the Kingsborough Houses is filled with hazards and in need of repairs.

They say the playground has not received proper repairs in decades and that it is riddled with deteriorating wood, loose planks and warped floors.

NYCHA officials say they have inspected the playground and did not find any safety issues.

Officials also say that under a new plan, they will be developing new playground and park design standards for renovation projects in the future.
