PARK SLOPE - Engine Company 220 in Park Slope is one of eight fire companies in Brooklyn threatened to be closed down due to Mayor Michael Bloomberg's proposed budget cuts.

Jim Rallis, who served as captain to Ladder 122 for four years, says he's worried about the closures of so many fire stations in Brooklyn.

The fire commissioner has said that the shuttered companies would only add a few seconds to response times in the borough.

However, residents in the area say any additional time added to a fire response is a detriment.
