CROWN HEIGHTS - Some members of the Crown Heights community are stepping in to help the woman who lost her family in an apartment fire this week.

Rose Danielle Etienne lost her two young sons and her husband in the fire Wednesday. Elected officials and the community say they will help her in any way they can to start over and heal.

The city will also help with funeral costs. The funeral services will be held next weekend, so the family from Haiti can arrive in Brooklyn.

On the heals of the fatal fire, the NYPD and FDNY announced they will temporarily modify the way 911 calls reporting fires are handled.
