Community leaders push for long-dormant bath house to reopen

MANHATTAN BEACH - Community leaders are pushing to reopen a long-closed Manhattan Beach bath house.

The building, which has been closed to the public since the 1960s, has been used as a storage facility for the Parks Department and NYPD.

Officials say they are looking into ideas like opening a restaurant or fitness center in the building.

Many residents say they like the idea of reopening the building and think it might add to the ambiance to the area.
