Community outraged after Bay Ridge garden heist

Community members say they are outraged that thousands of dollars worth of plants and flowers were stolen from a garden in Bay Ridge on Earth

BAY RIDGE - Community members say they are outraged that thousands of dollars worth of plants and flowers were stolen from a garden in Bay Ridge on Earth Day.

Jimmy Johnson says whoever stole the flowers and plants from the Narrows Botanical Garden knew what they were doing.  He says the suspect only took flowers and plants that were known to be expensive.

One of the plants that was stolen, a Japanese plant, had an estimated worth of more than $3,000.

Johnson says local nurseries that heard about the heist have stepped up and donated some of what was stolen.
