MANHATTAN - A rally was held at City Hall today in favor of overriding Mayor Michael Bloomberg's veto of the Community Safety Act that would monitor the NYPD.

People at the rally called yesterday's ruling on the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk policy a victory, but said more needs to be done to stop what they call bias-based profiling.

The bill would place stronger regulations on bias profiling and create an inspector general to oversee the NYPD. Mayor Bloomberg recently vetoed the bill. City Council members trying to override the veto joined the rally.

A vote to override the veto will be held Aug. 22.
