BROOKLYN - Community leaders are expected to meet in Brownsville today to discuss neighborhood violence following the fatal shooting of a local mother.

According to police, Shalema Gaskin was found dead outside the rear entrance to Brookdale Hospital Tuesday after being shot in the neck.

Friends and family say the mother of three was visiting her 8-year-old daughter, who had suffered an asthma attack, and they don't know why anyone would want to hurt her.

No arrests have been made.
