Con Ed ends lease on Park Slope parking lot

PARK SLOPE - Con Ed will soon stop offering free parking to its Brooklyn employees, which workers say will lead to fewer available spots for local residents.

Con Ed says it has ended its lease of a parking lot on 3rd Street in Park Slope that 250 employees used. The union at Con Ed, the Utility Workers of America, says the decision will create a bigger burden on drivers looking for parking.

The utility says it is offering employees discounted MTA fare cards and that savings from ending the lease will be passed on to customers.
