BROOKLYN - Con Edison has lifted a voltage reduction put in place earlier today in some areas of Brooklyn.

The utility reduced voltage by 5 percent in Coney Island, Manhattan Beach, Seagate and Gravesend to save power consumption during the warm weather.

The agency also asked residents to turn off non-essential appliances such as dishwashers or washing machines.
