MARINE PARK - Con Edison restored electricity to nearly 3,000 homes in Marine Park after a power outage Wednesday.

Officials from Con Edison say a tree branch brushing against some electrical wires is what caused the power outage. One of the wires broke the windshield of a car, but no one was in the car at the time.

Power was fully restored early Wednesday afternoon.
