BROOKLYN - Mere hours before storms rolled through the borough, utility Consolidated Edison and the union representing its workers reached an agreement to end a monthlong lockout.

About 8,500 Con Ed workers had been locked out since June 30.

The agreement came after Gov. Andrew Cuomo stepped in and urged the two sides to work to reach a long-term agreement.To watch Cuomo's speech announcing the end of the lockout, click iO Extra on Channel 612.
