Coney Island bird lover facing eviction

CONEY ISLAND - A Coney Island woman's love of birds may result in the loss of her rent-stabilized apartment.

Sabina Mickiewicz says for 24 years she has been spreading seeds and bread outside her home because she doesn't want any birds to go hungry. According to Mickiewicz, it's why she received an eviction notice recently.

A lawyer representing the Neptune Avenue building where Mickiewicz lives says the morning feedings have led to birds defecating on tenants' cars as well as birds congregating on building property.

The eviction notice also states Mickiewicz was asked several times to stop but refused.
