CONEY ISLAND - A coalition of booted Coney Island vendors agreed today to fight back against a forced eviction from the famed boardwalk.
The vendors met at a Cropsey Avenue diner to draft a plan that includes hiring an attorney and going to landlord-tenant court.
Eviction letters were sent Monday to 11 vendors operating near the new rides installed at Luna Park. The rides were installed last May as part of Coney Island's redevelopment. Only about half of the old concessions will be allowed to stay in the prime section of the boardwalk.
The fate of the vendors has been on hold since Italian company Zamperla opened Luna Park.
Nearly a dozen Coney Island vendors ordered to close
