CONEY ISLAND - The Coney Island Circus Sideshow kicked off today despite the damp, chilly weather.
Like most of the area, the building that the show is housed in took on 8 feet of water during Superstorm Sandy.
Sideshow workers say that after hard work and serious determination, the show is back and is a symbol of Coney Island's resilience.
Performances are scheduled from now until mid-September. Shows occur every hour from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
The sideshow includes a cast of live professional performers, including a sword swallower, contortionist, snake charmer and fire eater.
