Coney Island community helps family after fatal shooting

CONEY ISLAND - The Coney Island community is coming to the aid of a father of seven after his wife was killed in a quadruple shooting last week.

Neighbors have paid the family daily visits and left dozens of candles at a makeshift vigil near its Surf Avenue apartment.

Police say the shooting erupted following a dispute involving a 20-year-old man and Vicky Rogucki's teenage daughter, and that Rogucki's 19-year-old son got into an argument with the man before shots rang out.

Rogucki died Friday night at Lutheran Medical Center. The son is now in jail facing weapons possession charges related to the shooting and Isa Johnson, 29, has been charged with murder.
