BROOKLYN - A Coney Island staple returned today after a brief hiatus due to Superstorm Sandy.

The fortune telling machine "Grandmother's Predictions" handed out predictions to Coney Island visitors for more than 80 years under Deno's Wonder Wheel. Following Sandy, a six-month restoration process involved rebuilding her cabinet, rewiring her mechanism and recreating a lot of permanently destroyed components.

Those responsible for her reparation as well as those seeking some advice were overjoyed at the machine's return.
