CONEY ISLAND - Despite the cloudy weather, signs of summer are springing up on Coney Island as everyone prepares to kick off Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer.

The Parks Department is out in full force, combing the sand and preparing the beach for the holiday.

Elsewhere, Nathan's is now open for business, along with the new Brooklyn Nets team store.
