Coney Island high-rise fire leaves 6 injured

CONEY ISLAND - A fire inside a Coney Island high-rise building has left three firefighters with minor injuries and sent three tenants to the hospital.

Fire officials say flames broke at around 10:15 a.m. on the sixth floor of the Surfside Gardens housing complex, located at Surf Avenue and West 28th Street.

None of the residents sustained life-threatening injuries. Firefighters say that they are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
