Coney Island man laid to rest after double shooting

CONEY ISLAND - A Brooklyn man was laid to rest today after he was killed in a double shooting earlier this week.

Andrew Quinones, 19, was shot in the stomach Monday on West 20th Street in Coney Island. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. His brother, Joshua Valasquez, 18, was shot in the buttocks and is now in stable condition at a local hospital.

Quinones' funeral was held today at John's Funeral Home on Liberty Avenue. He leaves behind a pregnant wife and a young son.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
