Coney Island opens for 85th season

CONEY ISLAND - The adventure of Coney Island was back on display as the amusement park was reopened today for the 85th season. "It's very nostalgic and family oriented," said Erik Kanap. "I've been coming down here since I was a child." This year the park is showing off new and improved rides, like the famous Cyclone roller coaster, which will be faster thanks to the addition of 280 feet of new tracks. Also, go carts and a trapeze will be open by the end of May. The park's boardwalk is also adding seven new places to eat for visitors. The park is only open on weekends from now until Memorial Day, after that it will be open every day.
