CONEY ISLAND - Brooklyn residents made their way to hardwore stores this morning to stock up on salt and shovels as a winter storm rolled into the area.

Shoppers picking up supplies say they're more attentive to weather since Sandy hit two months ago.

Forecasts predicted up to 4 inches of snow could fall in Brooklyn.
