(08/13/10) CONEY ISLAND - Coney Island residents came together Friday to march against violence.

Members of a local mentoring group, Men United for Change, protested the recent rash of violence in the area. This summer, Coney Island has seen at least four gun-related incidents. On June 9, Vicky Rogoucki, a mother of seven, was shot and killed protecting her son. On July 25, a 19-month-old was hit by a stray bullet in the leg, and on July 28, a 14-year-old boy in a wheelchair with a broken leg was shot in the lobby of his own building. The fourth incident occurred last week, when a 24-year-old was shot dead on Mermaid Avenue.

Coney Island residents say the march was their way of saying they have had enough.
