CONEY ISLAND - Days after a random shooting inside a bodega, the Coney Island community came together today to denounce violence in the area and show support for the shooting victim.

Amanda Santiago says she was picking up snacks for her daughter and nephew at the Seagate Deli when a gunman walked into the store and opened fire.  Santiago, 24, was shot during the incident and was recently released from the hospital.

Other survivors of gun violence also attended the event in support, saying they want to take back their community.
