Coney Island rides safe for summer fun

BROOKLYN - Inspectors from the Department of Buildings offered a behind-the-scenes look at how their unit inspects amusement park rides in Coney Island, making sure they are safe for the season.

Inspectors review safety measures at Luna Park before the summer rush begins. Every year, rides are checked before operation and are also spot-checked at random times throughout the summer.

The city advises residents to use caution when getting on rides and to follow proper safety precautions.
