BOROUGH PARK - A construction incident in Borough Park left one person dead Friday.

Police say just after 2 p.m., a ceiling gave way and collapsed onto 21-year-old Alex Santizo.

Those at the scene said Santizo fell three stories before crashing into the basement. He was rushed to Maimonidies Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.

The Department of Buildings has since issued a stop-work order for the construction of the building.
