CONEY ISLAND - Authorities say they have two suspects in custody in connection with a shooting that injured a 19-month-old girl in Coney Island Sunday.

Police say 17-year-old Dortch Devin and 24-year-old Vincent Carmona are facing a slew of charges, including assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and criminal trespassing.

Investigators say that the pair were aiming for a third individual who was the victim of an earlier robbery.

The shooting victim, Jayleen Jones, is recovering at Lutheran Hospital.

Neighbors on West 35th Street say violence in the area has become all too common.
