Cops: 2 men arrested after hostage situation in Flatbush

FLATBUSH - Two men were arrested today after police say a hostage situation in a liquor store came to a peaceful end in Flatbush.

Billy Bathwaite, a man who says he was a hostage at the store, says two armed men with their faces covered entered the store early this afternoon and demanded money from the two customers and workers inside.

Bathwaite says that when police arrived, the men tried to force them into a back room, but he managed to escape.

Police say that soon afterward, the other hostages were freed and police were able to take the men into custody.
