Cops: Car driven by assemblyman shot at in Brooklyn

NEW YORK - (AP) - Police say the back window of a car driven byNew York state Assemblyman William Boyland was shattered by gunfirein Brooklyn while his 7-year-old son was in the vehicle. No one wasinjured.

Police say the shooting took place around 6 p.m. Wednesdayafternoon as the assemblyman and his son drove through theBrownsville section.

Boyland did not immediately respond to an emailed request forcomment.

The assemblyman is in his fourth term serving the 55th AssemblyDistrict.

Police say the investigation into the shooting remains open.
