Cops: Device at BK subway stop not dangerous

NEW YORK - (AP) - New York City police say a suspicious device ata subway station in Brooklyn turned out to be heating equipment.

A service alert on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority'sWeb site says service at the Jay Street-Borough Hall Station hasbeen restored in both directions at the station.

Trains were diverted from the station for nearly two hoursbeginning about 8:44 p.m. Thursday as police investigated.
