Cops hunt for armed suspect in livery cab robbery

Police are on the hunt for an armed man who they say robbed a livery cab driver in Crown Heights. Authorities say the suspect approached

BROOKLYN - Police are on the hunt for an armed man who they say robbed a livery cab driver in Crown Heights.

Authorities say the suspect approached the driver while he was sitting in the parked car on the corner of Portal and Union avenues Monday night. They say he pointed a gun, demanded money and then stole the cab.

Investigators were able to recover the car in another area and say no one was hurt.

The suspect is described as having a West Indian accent. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577.TIPS.
