PROSPECT HEIGHTS - Police have released video in their search for a knife-wielding suspect who ransacked a deli and tried attacking a store employee.

According to police, the attempted robbery happened at the Classon Grocery & Deli just before 9 p.m. on Labor Day.

Cops say the suspect walked into the store and shortly afterward, tried to grab some merchandise from behind the counter.  That's when they say the store clerk attempted to fight him off before the suspect pulled out a pocket knife and tried to slash the attendant.

The fight eventually spilled over to the sidewalk where the suspect tried to attack the clerk before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male with blonde hair, about 20 to 25 years old.  Cops say he's about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and around 160 pounds.
