BROOKLYN - Police say they are searching for a man who fired shots outside the Circus Fruit Store in Borough Park.

Cops say an off-duty officer identified himself and ordered the suspect to drop his weapon. The man then pointed the gun at the officer who opened fire.

Police say the suspect ran away. They don't believe he was shot.

In a statement, NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne said, "Miss Griffin was provided access to bathroom facilities. In fact, her individual cell included a toilet. She was being held on an outstanding warrant. Claims that she was not brought to court in a timely fashion are being investigated.
