Cops question 8 in death of BK deliveryman

NEW YORK - (AP) - Police are questioning eight people in thekilling of a bread deliveryman who was shot to death as he drovehis route in Brooklyn.

Jorge Martinez was fatally wounded by a gunshot to the head ashe drove his van along Avenue X.

Police said Tuesday that ballistics evidence indicates 22 shotswere fired by three different 9-millimeter guns. They recovered 22shell casings from a rooftop of a nearby building and fromscaffolding.

The eight people being questioned in Friday's fatal shootingwere from the same building. They were arrested on unrelatedwarrants.

The 39-year-old Martinez' van was struck by two bullets. One hitMartinez, who lost control of the van and crashed. He died en routeto the hospital.

Police say they don't think he had been targeted.
