Cops release footage of liquor store robbery, offer reward

MIDWOOD - Police have released surveillance footage of the deadly liquor store robbery that took a reformed life and has shaken the Midwood community.Click "NEXT" to watch video released by police of the suspect.Authorities say an armed man entered MB Vineyard on Nostrand Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. As he tried to rob a woman, police say 34-year-old Yoseph Robinson intervened and was fatally shot.

The video shows the suspect approaching Robinson as he is carrying a gun. The suspect is described as being a light-skinned man, 160 lbs., and was last seen wearing a tan-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and a tan mask.Friends say Robinson, a Jamaican by birth who was involved in the hip-hop industry, had recently converted to Judaism after getting shot in California.

On his website, Robinson wrote about a book he was working on dealing with his identity. Friends say they hope to get it published posthumously.

A $12,000 reward has been offered by the NYPD for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
