Cops search for gunman who shot 13-year-old boy

BROWNSVILLE - Police are looking for the gunman behind a wild shootout that sent a young Brownsville teen to the hospital.

According to police, 13-year-old Shariffe Peebles was with a group of friends near his school on Glenmore Avenue Monday night when someone began firing. Police say Peebles was shot in the back and shoulder.

The teen's mother says her son doesn't know the gunman.

Peebles is recovering at Brookdale Hospital.
