Cops seek armed robber in Sheepshead Bay

SHEEPSHEAD BAY - Police say they are investigating a series of armed robberies in Sheepshead Bay.

Police say the latest robbery involved a mother and daughter at 2957 Avenue W. The mother tells News 12 Brooklyn that the robber put a gun to her throat and demanded she hand over her purse and valuables.

When the mother handed over the items, the alleged thief walked up the steps and disappeared. The thief was able to make off with their cellphones, IDs, a tablet computer and $100.

Police say that just a few minutes earlier, there was a similar attempted robbery nearby involving a 62-year-old woman. The victim says the attacker put a gun in her hand and demanded money. The thief fled without taking anything after the woman resisted.
