BROOKLYN - An off-duty corrections officer accidentally shot himself and a coworker yesterday at a gas station, sending them both to the hospital.

The Department of Corrections says officer Ramel Small accidentally shot himself in the hand as he was taking his personal gun from one holster to another. The same bullet hit officer Wayne Feliciano in the hip. The accident happened at a gas station on Bushwick Avenue and Stewart Street.

Both officers were taken to Kings County Hospital and they are expected to be OK.
