Corrections officer shot inside East Flatbush deli

EAST FLATBUSH - Police say an off-duty corrections officer was shot Monday night in East Flatbush.

According to police, the assailant shot the officer inside a supermarket deli on the corner of Rogers Avenue and Lenox Road. Police say he was shot in the back of the leg and treated at Kings County Hospital.

Investigators are unsure what provoked the shooting, but believe it may have stemmed from a parking dispute. They say the shooter wore a red hooded sweatshirt and fled in a black vehicle.
