Costumes sparkle for West Indian carnival

BROOKLYN - Costumes for the West Indian Day Parade shone and sparkled as skilled artists worked on them before this year's celebration.

Seamstresses at Phoenix International are making several of the colorful costumes for the parade this year. The workers say they have a lot of fun designing costumes and coming up with new ideas - like a mohawk headpiece.

The parade will be held on Labor Day beginning at 11 a.m.
