BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - Three families were displaced when two buildings were destroyed by a fire Monday afternoon.

The FDNY says the fire was caused by sparks from a metal grinder used by workers on the outside of the building.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

No one was home when the fire broke out around 4 p.m., however one fireman did suffer minor

Residents of the neighborhood were shaken up by news of the fire. "It's very emotional to know that you're going home and maybe don't have a place to stay for the night," said Brooklyn resident Evans Oseiboaten
