Crews begin building new Nets basketball arena

Building at the new Nets basketball arena at Atlantic Yards began today.The developer says crews have completed the foundation and have begun to build vertically.

BROOKLYN - Building at the new Nets basketball arena at Atlantic Yards began today.

The developer says crews have completed the foundation and have begun to build vertically. He says putting the first steel beams in place is a major milestone for the project.

The arena is set to open in the summer of 2012.
