BROOKLYN - Sunday marked the official start of the season for the Metropolitan Cricket League at the Gateway Plaza in Brooklyn.

The New York and Metropolitan District Cricket Association has been around for 124 years, but it was the first time it ever held an opening ceremony.

The festivities included food, a live DJ and the ceremonial first pitch, thrown by Borough President Eric Adams.
